This is a barrel I painted for a new coffee shop in my neighborhood, called Upper Cup Coffee Company. These guys can not only brew the perfect cup and make your favorite fancy coffee drink, they roast their own beans in-store. If you enjoy coffee, supporting the local business community, or just hanging out in Olde Towne East’s coolest new spot, come check it out at 79 Parsons Avenue.
These barrels are used to hold the large burlap sacks of green beans as they come in from overseas (weighing in at 136 lbs. a sack). The owners of Upper Cup have been lending these barrels out to local artists to decorate for use in the shop. Here is the first, which is now in the store and full of coffee beans….
