During my last critique, I was challenged by the professor for the thesis course to narrow my focus and distill my project down to three “things” that I am interested in and researching. I accepted this challenge, and have since determined what three material qualities I am concerned with. Every piece of work I produce from here on out must be comprised of and exemplify these three qualities. The intention is to embrace these qualities as well as eliminate any extraneous ones.
The three qualities I am working with are 1) Transparency 2) Edge & 3) Layering. These are defined below, as taken from the Oxford English Dictionary (personally edited to be succinct and pertinent to my thesis).
