These are small paintings on which I have built up layers of clear medium in between the layers of colors. They are mostly on watercolor paper, a few are on pieces of cardboard and one is on bristol paper. They vary in depth, although some are as thick as half an inch.
These paintings take a long time to make; the process consists of spraying a clear medium on the work, letting it dry, then repeating until a thickness of material is built up. What is “a long time”? I’ve been working on most of these (intermittently) since the Fall of 2011.
