My first painting

Alex Conrad Eden Park

This is a photograph of the first painting I ever painted (in 1999).  It is 9″ x 12″, acrylic on canvas.  It is a landscape of Eden Park in Cincinnati.  I was taking my first-ever art class, at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Art, Architecture & Planning (DAAP).  I never had an art class in High School, so when I took my first “Basic Drawing” class in my 3rd year of college, my entire world changed.  Time exploded, space blew up.  Kevin Muente, now at Northern Kentucky University, was the professor of that class.  It was he who started me up.  And you know what they say about starting me up….
