This year I am raising some sunflower plants in my neighborhood. If all goes well, there should be some nice blooms on some large plants toward the end of summer.
In this phase, I have taken 5 different types of sunflower seeds and turned them into sprouts. This time around I used the Paper Towel Method, which a friend referred me to. All you have to do is sandwich some seeds between a few layers of paper towels. Then pour enough water over them to make the paper towels good and wet. After that, be patient and make sure that the paper towels remain moist. In a few days the seeds will pop open and start to establish roots, as seen above.
