Oil on canvas, 8″ x 14″. This painting depicts a view of the sky as I saw it one day during a trip to West Virginia with my stepfather, Bert. We were visiting his birthplace, called Streeter, which is a beautiful piece of country in the mountains. We walked past his family’s church beside a natural spring and up through the woods to a clearing in the trees. It was there that I lied down on the ground and stared at the sky for awhile.
